Shannon Allen
Cello
Shannon Allen is a cellist deeply involved in Maine's musical landscape, performing across diverse genres and settings, teaching, and engaging in community outreach through music.
He is a graduate of USM’s School of Music. Notable performances include playing with the band Disturbed, appearances on screen for PBS’s American Masters and the motion picture Little Women. He has also been a guest cellist with the Portland String Quartet.
He volunteered with Hospice of Southern Maine playing music for patients and families.
Most recent musical excursions have been: playing in an experimental sound band named “Contrails”, with Michael McInnis on synthesizers and John Clark on electric upright bass; playing with singer/songwriter Sigrid Sibley; artist Benny Z. of Redtail Hawk; and playing electric bass with the band The Strangely Possibles.
